Star Citizen Patch 3.0.0

Just before Christmas, Alpha Patch 3.0.0 has been released to all Star Citizen backers. This update contains one of our largest feature sets to date – including the three moons of Crusader, a new mission system, improved shopping and cargo mechanics, and increased our server player count from twenty-four to fifty players. Alpha 3.0.0 is also the first implementation of a lot of system changes that go on in the background. For example, with commodity trading, we’re testing out the very first iteration of the dynamic economy that will control the marketplace of the universe.

Join the Fight…

Star Marine is here! Star Citizen’s first-person combat simulator lets backers engage in pitched FPS battles complete with multiple game modes, leaderboards and an all-new user interface. The initial launch of Star Marine includes two maps, OP Station Demien and Echo Eleven, as well as two game modes. Elimination is a free-for-all everyone-for-themselves fight where players duke it out for the highest kill score. Last Stand offers a chance for players to team up and battle for dominance over several Control Points in a fight where proper teamwork will determine victory.

Star Marine features numerous updates to Star Citizen’s FPS systems including grenades, vaulting, and combat emotes. The Player Health System has been updated so that you can now bleed out, when injured your health pool decreases over time until it reaches a fatal limit or the player heals. Competitive leaderboards have also been included, as well as a major UI update to the lobby. Star Marine is accessible to all backers with Star Citizen packages.

You can read the complete Patch Notes here.

UEE Security have had reports for many years of pirates operating out of the Yela System.  This week they have confirmed an abandoned mining facility has in fact been established within the Asteroid belt.

Attempts from Crusader security to investigate this facility have proven to be deadly for anyone working for or with the UEE.

"Crusader Industries would like to alert all pilots to avoid the Yela asteroid field. Pirates have become increasingly aggressive, and may attempt to lure pilots off course with fake requests for assistance. Crusader Industries believes they are based out of the decommissioned Green Imperial mining asteroid station, however attempts to locate the station have been difficult of late. Please report any suspicious activity, and consider any unidentified craft leaving the asteroid field extremely dangerous."

We are extremely excited to see the new content in Patch 2.5.

IN CONCEPT

Manifesto

The Widowmaker’s of the 55th Pursuit Squadron offer something unique to perspective recruits…and that is continuity of leadership. With 18 years of online gaming history the members of Clan Widowmaker have actually spanned generations…

WHAT WE LOOK FOR IN NEW RECRUITS

We are looking for like individuals and small groups who seek to endeavor to enrich the Star Citizen universe and are who are both casual and goal driven players.

WHAT WE OFFER…

RESPECT

  • Both mutually and towards our allies and even enemies alike. Respect is a core pillar of who we are.

CHALLENGING GAME PLAY

  • We don’t claim to be the biggest, nor have we ever aspired to be but we are a tight knit and time tested group of many online games and push the boundaries of content.

TEAMWORK

  • Our focus and intent is driven by this, teamwork is another core pillar of who we are, assisting one another with in game goals is a given.

WIDOWMAKERS VISION & MISSION

The 55th’s primary intent is to have fun first and foremost…however we do intend to claim some small sector of space as our own and develop a base of operations from which to work from. Periodic support missions of other unit entities for a “fee” are another primary mission and goal we have.

ECONOMICS

With many of our members already possessing a wide range of ships to include 2 Javelin escort destroyers and multiple Idris class corvettes we have a well-rounded fleet and intend to provide mutual support towards our members growing in game assets.

MILITARY

With a well-rounded fleet composition our MTOE, (Military Tables of Equipment) of ships and players will allow for us to provide a rapid and agile response to various threats. That said Clan Widowmaker maintains a training command division within its games that develop and formulate strategies and integrate new members into our units. As the game matures we will be developing training guidelines specific to the Star Citizen Universe.

Our fleet will be a home for any and all pilots that are like minded and drama free. One important aspect we will encourage is open divisions. While everyone will have a primary division when duty calls we plan on allowing our members to experience any and all of the game mechanics/areas.

HISTORY

TRADITION, LOYALTY, FAMILY…

The 55th Pursuit Squadron of Clan WidowMaker traces its lineage back to the early days of the UPE. As a sister unit to Squadron 42 the 55th received its baptism under fire on August 2nd, 2610 during the battle for Elysium IV against the fleet of Tevarin Warlord Corath’Thal.

The Wildcards of WidowMaker flight having taken the blunt of the fighting pledged to one another after that battle a life of service that spanned generations as the children of the unit each took up the UEE cause and requested assignment to the 55th.

In the year 2920 with the UPE financially strapped the UEE suffered major funding cuts and the 55th was officially decommissioned. Disillusioned the pilots of the 55th did not re-enlist as their terms of service ended. Instead a bold plan had been hatched by the 55th’s Squadron Commander Harrison “Rainman” Teller.

His vision was to form a Private Military Corporation and incorporate the living descendants of the the Widowmaker’s 55th pursuit squadron into a Clan of pilots ascribing to a warrior ethos with the motto of,

“The Only Easy Day Was Yesterday”

This collection of kindred souls has endured for nearly 30 years providing contract services to those in need and when the need arises the UEE as well. Under the current leadership of Admiral Patrik “Cyberwolf” Hunter the 55th WidowMakers accepts not only family but those seeking a place to call home as well.

In Star Citizen, we plan to accommodate every playing style from casual PvE-only to serious PvP. Our unit will conduct every type of legitimate mission available in the Star Citizen ‘verse, including exploration, trade, combat (convoy escort, piracy suppression, and others), bounty hunting, mining, salvage, FPS (boarding actions, planetary assaults, etc.), research and development, and others. We will strive together to forge the 55th's reputation in the Star Citizen ‘verse.
